There are many different factors to consider when choosing an airline for your long-haul flights. Most importantly, you want your whole family to feel comfortable for the length of the journey so that you arrive at your destination well rested and ready for a fun family vacation.
Some airlines go above and beyond to keep their customers happy. Here’s the most infant-friendly business class airlines around:
With the most business class seats on-board, Emirates doesn’t disappoint when it comes to providing luxury for the whole family.
Young Emirates flyers receive non-stop dedicated children’s entertainment (and some brightly coloured headphones to watch it with!) toys, blankets and goodies to make their flight enjoyable. They’ll also receive a Lonely Planet activity pack complete with educational books, creative crafts and more.
Parents will receive a kit including all the essentials (nappies, wipes and bibs) and changing tables are available in the bathrooms.
Etihad Airways truly care about their passengers. For long haul flights, Etihad offers a “flying nanny” who is there to provide on-board activities for your children and support to parents.
Activities include arts and crafts, origami, face painting, hand puppets, paper crowns, pilot hats and certificates for young flyers.
Every child over 3 will receive an activity book, stickers and games and for older children, there’s access to a world of music, Disney films, interactive games and TV.
For all UK departing airports, children are handed KiD backpacks at the gate which are packed full of goodies to keep them occupied for the whole journey.
If you’re flying with a baby on Virgin Atlantic, there are baby-friendly cabin crew who are on hand to assist throughout your flight and provide specially designed cots, warm-milk and baby changing facilities should you need them.
Air New Zealand allow you to book a child’s meal in advance of the flight and once on-board, children’s meals are served before yours so that you can feed your infant before enjoying your own meal.
Little ones also have their own selection of movies, TV shows, games and audio books as well as a fun kid’s pack!
Putting your little one’s safety first is also a priority, with bassinets, car seats, skycouch infant harnesses, belts and pods available on all Air New Zealand Boeing 7777 and 787-9 long-haul services.
Infant ‘Skyflighers’ receive activity packs on British Airways flights which come in swimming bags containing colouring books and crayons to keep your children amused throughout the journey.
There’s also a wide range of audio stories, movies and TV channels on board including soothing bedtime stories that can help the children to fall asleep during those long-haul flights.
