Visit the cultural heart of this riverside city on your luxury holiday, with numerous interactive museums, theatres and the Gallery of Modern Art all nestled along the banks of the Brisbane River. This district is interspersed with parks and even has a sandy lagoon to paddle in which is popular with locals and tourists alike in the sub-tropical climate.

Experience one of Australia’s largest sand islands by taking the fast catamaran to Moreton Island for the day. During the March to October season, the home team, the Brisbane Broncos, hold matches at Suncorp Stadium, but the rivalry between the Queensland Maroons and New South Wales Blues reaches boiling point between May and June in the annual State of Origin series.

Holidays to Brisbane aren’t complete without a trip to the premier shopping district – a pedestrianised zone in the city centre with Queen Street Mall at its heart. The surrounding area is home to a blend of the business district with towering skyscrapers, and historic buildings such as the former Treasury Building and City Hall, making a lovely area to explore on foot.
To the south of the central district lies the Botanic Gardens, protruding out into the Brisbane River and an oasis from the noise and chaos of the surrounding city.

Alternatively, Australia Zoo is situated only 30 minutes from the coast and has entertainment for the whole family. Showcasing Australia’s native fauna from Echidnas to Crocodiles, you can get up close and personal with the animals. Crikey!
Further afield and a short domestic flight from Brisbane are the idealic islands of Fraser Island and the Whitsunday Islands. An undisturbed natural oasis, Fraser Island offers opportunities for exploring the lakes, bushland, and sandy beaches on foot or by four-wheel-drive, and remains the only place to see pure Dingoes in the wild!
